Finch Woods Academy

Barcelona

With the introduction of Spanish at Finch Woods Academy, we aim to offer quality teaching as well as unique and memorable experiences to our pupils. Their voice is very important to us and as a result, we decided on a destination to our international trip.

After suggestions being made and votes being counted, we had a winner: Barcelona!

We chose Barcelona, Spain as our destination for an adventure that’s as colourful as the land itself and we were able to set our sights in a city that is not only full of culture but that invites young pupils to experience a diverse combination of education and fun.

From the moment we left FWA, we knew this was going to be an exciting trip and even more special for those who were going to be on a plane for the first time.

Our flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Barcelona landed early, which gave us more time to enjoy this beautiful city.

During those 3 days we stayed in the city centre where we were able to tick off the big-hitting hotspots, as well as having moments to escape the hustle and bustle and experience this well-known city through its lesser-known sights. We explored hidden barrios and streets full of character, and experienced some authentic Spanish food.

From the lively spirit of Las Ramblas and Boqueria Market to the architectural gems of Gaudi spread around the city, we were fortunate enough to also appreciate the stunning Sagrada Familia and visit the Olympic Village. At FWA we always try to fulfil our pupils' dreams, so Camp Nou Barcelona Stadium tour was also on the list.

The spirit amongst pupils was vibrant, wanting to explore more and more.

Thank you to all parts involved in this project and we hope you enjoy the video and photos.
